Mycorrhizal fungi form symbiotic associations with over 90% of the world's plant species. They are particularly effective for agricultural plants that have high water and nutritional needs. Mycorrhizal fungi make nutrients available to growing plants, absorb water, retard disease, and condition soil. What is Mycorrhizae? "Mycor" - "rhiza" literally means "fungus" - "root" and defines the mutually benefiial relationship between the plant and root fungus.
