Frustrated with the inaccuracies of setting up my OneWay Wolverine Jig (not included) and the long set up times, I designed a set of "Set Up Aids" calibrated for 8" Grinding Wheels which will quickly set the proper grinding angles for six different kinds of high-speed steel wood lathe turning tools. The Quad Setting Gauge sets four angles using the platform for your skew, bowl scraper, parting tool and roughing gouge. These preset angles work for most people in most situations most of the time. The Universal Setting Gauge sets the pocket arm distance for use with your OneWay Varigrind (not included). The Universal Setting Gauge gives you the ability to recreate a grind you already like on any bowl or spindle gouge and does not have any preset angles. The Yellow SetUp Blocks have been designed to be used with the OneWay Varigrind 1 or equivalent. They are calibrated for three bowl gouge grinds and one spindle gouge grind including Ellsworth type, standard, and bottom feeder. If you need to check the nose angle on your gouge, an angle gauge is included with the most common angles used by woodturners. Finally, a two disk How-To video DVD collection is included and covers sharpening methods for the six categories of HSS lathe tools. This collection of setup aids and the videos were designed by Ron Brown, a touring professional woodturner and tool designer. These setup aids will not be accurate on grinders with six inch grinding wheels. Colors may vary.
