The glacial facial purifying mineral mud masque contains the most mineral-rich and pure glacial clay in the world, sustainably harvested from the remote waters of the Copper River Delta in Alaska. Our glacial masque detoxifies, exfoliates and softens skin while more than 60 nourishing major and trace elements promote healthy skin cell regeneration.

The pure mud is further enriched with a special combination of certified organic and wildcrafted botanical extracts from the Pacific Northwest including kelp, nettle, horsetail, elderflower, yarrow, cranberry, blueberry and vitamins e and b5 that are chosen for their moisturizing, skin-softening, anti-aging and immunoprotective properties.*

Kelp: Kelp (Macrocystis Pyrifera) Extract. This brown sea algae extract contains a natural source of minerals that help remove surface toxins, improve cellular circulation and soothe skin.
Elderflower: Elderflower (Sambucus Nigra) Extract. This infused blossom is known for refining complexion, purifying skin and healing targeted trouble areas.
Nettle: Nettle (Urtica Dioica) Extract. The immunoprotective and restorative properties of the leaves of this plant soothe and cleanse sensitive or dry skin.
Horsetail: Horsetail (Equisetum Hiemale) Leaf/Stem Extract. This hardy wetland plant is known for its soothing, regenerating properties as well as its toning and astringent qualities.
Cranberry: Cranberry (Vaccinium Macrocarpon) Extract. This beneficial berry is a natural anti-oxidant that promotes healthy cellular regeneration.
Blueberry: Blueberry (Vaccinium Angustifolium) Extract. This beneficial berry is a natural anti-oxidant that promotes healthy cellular regeneration.
Yarrow     Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium) Extract. This wildflower extract helps firm the skin.

It is sustainably harvested from the remote waters of the Copper River, draining the far corners of three mountain ranges including the Wrangell-St. Elias, Alaska Range and Chugach Mountains, sources of both volcanic and sedimentary rock, as well as the second largest icefield in the world, the Bagley Icefield, making it one of the most prolific and diverse glacial deposits in the world.

The Glacial Facial Product Philosophy

Our product is enriched with plant-derived ingredients and we always source organic and wildcraft botanical extracts and oils where possible because we know good skin deserves good ingredients and because no man-made product can replicate nature.

We never use synthetic fragrances, colors or fillers. All products are free of propylene glycol and parabens. We use no animal byproducts or animal testing. Our product is biodegradable and the packaging is recyclable. Why? Because it's about more than skin care.

About Alaska Glacial Mud Co.

Where the river meets the sea. The luxurious spa quality of glacial mud is well known by Alaskans who grow up bathing in its buttery texture. The idea for Alaska Glacial Mud Co. in particular was born in 2001 following an extraordinary journey down the Copper River on a raft where wilderness offered the most auspicious and unexpected spa experience in the world, bathing in glacial pools amidst bear tracks and the call of wild eagles. Since that journey and every time a local resident mentioned that "somebody should bottle this stuff," Lauren Padawer, the founder of Alaska Glacial Mud Co. realized she was the right woman in the right place at the right time.

The rafting trip was sponsored by the Eyak Preservation Council, a non-profit organization founded by Eyak descendant Dune Lankard. The organization is dedicated to a legacy of cultural and environmental preservation in honor of indigenous Eyak people who have called the Copper River Delta home for thousands of years. The rafting trip instilled a respect and awareness for the Copper River's bounty and the importance of protecting our planet's last remaining wild places.

While the playful spa quality of the Copper River mud may have inspired Alaska Glacial Mud Co., it was the river and its inhabitants that gave voice to the importance of sustainability and activism in our company philosophy.

In addition to being purveyors of the finest mineral-rich Alaska Glacial Mud, we are also advocates for the Copper River Delta/Watershed and pledge 10% of our profits to local organizations that love, work and fight for its protection.
