If your pet has an upleasant odor, it is caused by a bacterial infection that occurs in some cases of severe Mange. The infection must be brought under control to effectively cure Mange. Follow the steps below ONCE a day:

1. Wet pet and apply PetsBestRx Pet Wash full-strength to Mange-affected areas in a mild lather. Let soak for 5 minutes then rinse thoroughly. Dry affected area. *Body Wash should only be applied ONCE A WEEK unless otherwise instructed.
2. Wait 15 minutes, then lightly spray PetsBestRx Mitactin Spray on the areas where Mange Mites are present and rub into the skin. No rinsing required.
3. The next day, rub PetsBestRx Sulfinex Cream onto the affected areas. No rinsing required.
4. Alternating daily, repeat step 2 or 3, applying either the Mitactin Spray or the Sulfinex Cream each day.

Follow the above regimen for 2 weeks. However, most cases of Demodectic Mange often require longer periods of treatment.

When your pets immune system kicks in, the infection will quickly end and the healing process rapidly improves. Older Pets and extremely sick, immune suppressed animals may require added antibiotics to help the process along. Your Vet can test your pet for any underlying immune suppressing conditions as mentioned previously and you can give pet supplements to bolster its immune system.

Thorough cleaning can help prevent re-infestation or transmission to family members. Use PuraCleenRx Disinfectant Spray to clean everything that can be wiped down and where your pet may sleep or lay. Launder your pets bedding or sleeping area padding in hot water regularly. Un-washable fabrics should be thoroughly vacuumed to remove Mites and hair (throw away bag when done) and spray the vacuums brushes with non-staining, non-toxic PuraCleenRx Disinfectant Spray. Mange Mites attach their eggs to your pets hair and will reinfest your pet, prolonging treatment; therefore aggressive cleaning and vacuuming is a necessary component of the treatment. Mange can be cured, but with caution. Anytime your pet is around other pets, unbathed for long periods of time, living in rough outdoor conditions or even under stress and has an inherited predisposition for Mange, they may become reinfested. Regular baths with PetsBestRx Pet Wash will greatly reduce this risk.
