Occulence for Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Vision for Today...Vision for Tomorrow

The Good News

If you asked the average American which of the five senses they feared losing most, chances are the overwhelming majority would say their vision. Yet, if you asked that same group what they're doing to protect their vision, they'd likely have no answer. For some reason, vision health doesn't receive the necessary attention and damage often remains undetected until it worsens beyond the point of effective treatment.

Save Your Vision before you start to lose it

Scientists have taken up the cause of finding safe and effective treatments for the world's two leading causes of blindness: Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Cataracts. In fact, there are now over 300 studies connecting Lutein (one of our key ingredients) to beneficial vision results. The National Eye Institute conducted another significant and substantial study called AREDS; this study found amazing benefits from taking high doses of certain nutrients like vitamins C, E, and zinc...all of which are found in Occulence™ Vision Formula. Here at TL Sciences™ we have been diligently following recent studies and cutting-edge technology. We too have decided to answer the call for needed preventative treatment to maintain healthy vision.

The Bad News

Occulence Vision Formula was created to be a preventative measure against the onset of overall vision damage related to age, environmental factors, and certain harmful lifestyle choices. Think of Occulence as a "multi-vitamin" of sorts created specifically for your eyes. Therefore, using Occulence is as easy as taking your regular daily multi-vitamin. Taking Occulence from this perspective is the most efficient way of looking at your individual results. Often, vitamins and supplements are taken to ward off disease and harmful disorders. Occulence works exactly the same way. If Occulence is working, you likely won't feel or see any results at all. Rather, your healthy, clear vision will remain intact and undamaged.

Based on the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, over 9% of Americans over age 40 show some early form of macular degeneration. Since there is no cure, and surgery to improve cataracts is so costly, using Occulence to help prevent the onset of vision loss is of vital importance. As of yet, there is no cure for either Age-Related Macular Degeneration or Cataracts. More than 22 million Americans suffer from these two debilitating diseases. Once vision loss occurs, unfortunately, there is no turning back. The only thing you can do is to start working NOW to help preserve your precious eyesight.

How it Works

Macular Degeneration
(Age-Related Macular Degeneration, AMD)

Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in the United States. It is a condition that often begins to affect the eyes in middle age and slowly progresses towards severe, advanced degeneration if not attended to early enough. AMD results from negative changes in the macula, the part of the retina located in the back of the eye responsible for clear, sharp vision. When light hits the eye, it travels through to the back of the eye striking the macula. Here, the light is transformed into the fine and highly detailed color images that the brain receives. Basically, the macula is of central importance to regular and unimpeded vision.

If you notice certain symptoms such as slowly losing your ability to see objects clearly or with great detail, distorted vision, losing your perception of color, or a dark "blind spot" near the center of your vision, you may be experiencing an early form of Macular Degeneration. The loss of central vision due to AMD, unfortunately, cannot be restored. For this reason, it is extremely necessary to take the proper steps to maintain your vision health as soon as possible. Occulence™ Vision Formula can help you in this effort.

Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS)

Statistics show that over 22 million Americans suffer from either cataracts or Age-Related Macular Degeneration...or both. The problems: cataract surgery is very expensive and AMD currently has no known cure or reliable treatment. Therefore, maintaining current vision and preventing future damage and degeneration is very important.

One highly anticipated study conducted by the National Eye Institute and released in October of 2001 showed some promising results linking certain vitamins with successful prevention of AMD. Nearly 5,000 individuals ages 55-80 were studied over a seven year period. The participants were grouped according to their current vision condition (no vision loss, early AMD, intermediate AMD, advanced AMD), and from these four groups, each person was randomly selected to receive zinc, antioxidants, a combination of zinc and antioxidants, or a placebo "sugar pill." The results were startling...researches discovered that high doses of zinc and antioxidants could significantly reduce the risk of developing AMD by as much as 25%. They had found the first legitimate treatment to slow the progression of AMD. However, the study also stressed that in no way are these nutrients a cure for AMD, nor can they restore vision that has already been lost.

The AREDS study tested the ability of vitamins C and E, beta-carotene (vitamin A), and zinc to reduce the progression of AMD. Occulence™ Vision Formula incorporates each of these nutrients as well as copper to balance the zinc and prevent deficiency. Vision is one our most precious gifts...take the necessary precaution to keep this gift. Let Occulence help you maintain your invaluable eyesight before you begin to lose it.

Lutein

Over 300 peer-reviewed studies have shown the connection between Lutein and various benefits in the eye, skin, heart, immune deficiencies, and diabetes. Include Occulence™ in your daily routine not only for the health and vitality of your eyes, but to help further enhance your overall well-being.

Lutein is the key ingredient in our breakthrough preventative formula. It's classified as a carotenoid and antioxidant, and it's found naturally occurring in the eye, as well as in a variety of plants such as spinach, kale, broccoli, bilberries, and grapes. Lutein is also found in eggs and corn, helping give them their yellowish color. This incredible nutrient not only promotes healthy eyes, but has also been found to benefit overall health specifically in organs and tissue. However, to understand why Lutein helps prevent vision loss, we must first take a closer look at the harmful Free Radicals it fights.

Free Radicals occur naturally inside specific cells as a result of either high metabolic activity or energy interacting with tissue. They have been linked with dangerous and deadly forms of skin cancer, and they often contribute to general cell damage. Free Radicals are so dangerous because they are over-energized molecules that lack a single electron, making it fundamentally unstable (electrons always occur in pairs). They search out other molecules to steal an electron, which would complete its electron pair and stabilize the molecule. The problem lies in the circular nature of this cycle. When one Free Radical stabilizes, it naturally destabilizes the molecule from which it stole an electron. The end result is often damaged or irregular cells.

As an antioxidant, Lutein can help reduce the formation of damaging Free Radicals. It does so by filling the "empty" electron position within the unstable molecule. Also, Lutein can also help filter or absorb cell-damaging and highly energized blue light that bombards your eyes. Because of these defensive capabilities, Lutein can make a significant impact on improving and sustaining not just your vision, but you entire body. Remember, once your vision begins to diminish, the battle may have already been lost. Lost vision due to Age-Related Macular Degeneration cannot be regained. With the help and support of Occulence, start the fight against AMD and vision loss now, before the onset of irreversible damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AMD and what are cataracts?

AMD stands for Age-Related Macular Degeneration; cataracts are a clouding of all or part of the normally clear lens within the eye. More than 22 million Americans suffer from these two debilitating disorders. In fact, AMD is the leading cause of blindness in the US. It's necessary to take preventative measures to help prevent damage to your eyesight, as there currently is no cure for AMD.

Can I use Occulence™ if I'm on medications or have a medical condition?

It's always a good idea to consult with your physician or health care provider before starting any new health supplementation program, particularly if you suffer from any medical condition or regularly use prescription or over-the-counter medications.

Can anyone under the age of 18 take Occulence?

Occulence is not recommended for anyone under that age of 18.

Why should I take Occulence if my eyesight isn't giving me problems?

Occulence isn't designed to reverse damage caused by age, UV radiation, environment...etc. Rather, we created it to help prevent the onset of such damage. Our vision was to provide somewhat of a "multi-vitamin" for your eyes. Therefore, using Occulence can help increase the longevity of your healthy eyes.

I've been using Occulence for a while now...why haven't I felt a difference?

If you haven't noticed any changes in your eyesight, then Occulence is working exactly as it should. No results are actually very good results. Remember, Occulence is designed to help prevent further deterioration of your eyes and eyesight. Don't let these results fool you; keep working to protect your invaluable vision.

What is Lutein, and how does it work to help my eyesight?

Lutein is a natural antioxidant (molecules that have been widely praised for their ability to help fight cell degeneration, including cancer-causing free radicals). A group of antioxidants called carotenoids, of which Lutein is a member, may help reduce the risk of Age Related Macular Degeneration and can enhance overall health. It is concentrated and works in the retina and lens of the eye. There are more than 300 peer-reviewed studies that have connected Lutein with benefits in the eye, skin and heart, immune problems and diabetes.

What is this AREDS study I keep hearing about?

This was a seven-year study released in October 2001. "The Age-Related Eye Disease Study showed that a high-dose combination of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene, and Zinc significantly reduces the risk of developing advanced stages of AMD by about 25%. These high levels of antioxidants and Zinc are the first effective treatment to slow the progression of AMD, however these nutrients are not a cure nor will they restore lost vision." For this reason, you need to start protecting your eyesight NOW with the help of Occulence.

What should I do to help prevent AMD?

Certain factors leading to AMD cannot be changed, such as age, heredity and race (Caucasians are much more likely to suffer from AMD). However, there are lifestyle choices you can make that can greatly increase your eyes' longevity. Eat a well-balanced diet high in fruits and green, leafy vegetables, always wear sunglasses or a brimmed hat for protection from UV rays, don't smoke and limit your alcohol consumption. Fatty or high cholesterol foods should also be avoided.

Who is most likely to get AMD?

Age is far and away the greatest risk factor. While some people do suffer beginning in middle age, studies show that people over the age of 60 are clearly at greater risk than other age groups. A large study found people 75 or older have nearly a 30% risk of developing AMD.

What are the side effects of using Occulence?

Occulence has no known side effects. But, if you experience discomfort or other abnormalities you think are connected to Occulence, please consult your health care professional immediately.

Who should not take Occulence

Women who are pregnant or nursing are discouraged from using Occulence.
