Kikkerland LED Tube Lamp

This decorative lamp might become the most discussed light in your home or office. It uses eight low voltage LEDs in the base to direct light upward from inside of the tube. Light will be refracted on the frosted acrylic tube, shining through the cylinder and on the ceiling above. Recognize that the amount of light produced is very low, which makes it suitable as a decorative light or a night light. Also note that the low voltage transformer will draw about 3 watts of electricity all the time, even when the light is turned off. When plugged in this fixture will use 25.4 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity annually (costing $2.03 at $0.8/kWh). If it is never turned off it will consume 29.8 kWh of electricity annually (costing $2.38 at $0.8/kWh). Two models are available, one with 8 white LEDs and one with 8 blue LEDs. The base is metal with a felt pad underneath.
