Verilux Happy Eyes Lamp is a unique floor lamp. First, it is energy efficient. The lamp uses a 27 watt linear compact fluorescent bulb that is substantially brighter than a 100 watt incandescent bulb. Because the color temperature of the lamp used in this fixture is 5,000 degrees Kelvin, this fixture will provide a much whiter light than that offered by incandescent bulbs and many other compact fluorescents. A whiter light may be able to increase contrast and clarity on reading materials, which may, in turn, reduce eyestrain. The ballast used in this desk lamp is electronic, so there will be none of the flickering that is common with many magnetically ballasted lamps. The fixture is a neutral putty color with a gray neck. The orientation of the head can be adjusted by repositioning the gooseneck arm.
These floor lamps are basically the same as the original Verilux HappyEyes floor lamp, with two key improvements. They have a low and high light level switch and an aluminized parabolic grid diffuser to better direct light down onto your desk or work surface. The light fixtures use a 27 watt linear compact fluorescent bulb that is as bright as a 100 watt incandescent bulb.
Because the color temperature of the lamps used in these fixtures is 6,000 degrees Kelvin, the fixtures will provide a much whiter light than that offered by incandescent bulbs and many other compact fluorescents. A whiter light may be able to increase contrast and clarity on reading materials, which may, in turn, reduce eyestrain. The ballast used in these lamps is electronic, so there will be none of the flickering that is common with many magnetically ballasted lamps. Two colors are available, ivory or graphite. The orientation of the head can be adjusted by repositioning the gooseneck arm.
