It’s easy to give, just open the capsule and sprinkle the powder over your cat’s favorite food.
Arthritis, which is also called degenerative joint disease, is defined as inflammation of the joints. Recent research indicates that the role of arthritis in reducing the quality of life for many older cats has been significantly underestimated. The increasing importance of arthritis in our older cats is supported by radiographic evidence of degenerative joint disease in 90 percent of cats over 12 years old, regardless of whether or not visible signs are apparent. Many factors contributing to the cause; trauma, diet (obesity) and genetics, all play a role. Recognizing and addressing the causes and presence of arthritis can make a considerable difference in the quality of your older cat’s life.
SIGNS include limping, lameness, decreased activity, stiffness, reluctance to stand, climb stairs, run and jump. Cats become reluctant to move and often have accidents outside the litter box. Suggested home adjustments to assist older arthritic cats include moving food and water bowls to lower surfaces, adding ramps to allow easier access to favorite sleeping spots and placing low-sided litter boxes within easy reach.
Arthritis is a painful, progressive condition that destroys the cartilage and connective tissue, which normally act as a cushion and absorb shock between bones and joints.
Medical management, weight control and moderate exercise helps many cats enjoy a relatively pain free life. Medical management traditionally consisted of anti-inflammatory drugs and steroids, which are effective to relieve pain but carry serious side effects. New, natural remedies have proven to offer similar benefits without the risks. Moderate exercise helps maintain joint mobility and muscle strength for joint support. Weight control helps reduce the burden of excess soft tissue the joints must support.
Dr. Carol’s Hip & Joint Support is made to be given along with VitaLife for cats that need additional relief from advanced arthritic pain. Together these products help to minimize arthritis pain and inflammation while increasing joint lubrication and flexibility and enhancing the joints ability to absorb shock. They provide pets with a safe, effective, alternative solution to using prescription drugs like Rimadyl, Deramax, Prednisolone and Ectogesic.
Because age, breed, diet, lifestyle, injury and stress can affect the health and function of joints in different ways, Dr. Carol’s products are specifically designed to meet the various needs of your cat throughout his or her life stages. Correct and consistent administration is essential for optimum results. Your cat will love the taste, you’ll love the ease and you’ll both enjoy the great results!
