Item description

ALPHACURA  BODYGUARD

2 oz. bottle

QUICK and very EFFECTIVE BodyGuard relieves the pain and discomfort of Poison
Oak, Poison Ivy and Poison Sumac in minutes and speeds healing significantly.

After three years of research and development. Alphacura has a new product for relief from Poison Oak, Poison Ivy and Poison Sumac. Alphacura BodyGuard for the FIELD. It is derived from a living plant and the natural phyto- chemicals relieve the itching instantly. With continued use, the redness and itching go away in a few days.

TESTED AND PROVEN

In the Spring of 2000. The California Department of Forestry conducted extensive testing of Alphacura BodyGuard for the FIELD in the Santa Cruz County Ranger  unit. This part of the state is totally infested with poison oak. After this season of testing, the Battalion Chief found that Alphacura BodyGuard for the FIELD worked better than any other product they had used before.

Not only did it give quick lasting relief, but it substantially reduced down-time from the rashes caused by poison oak.

THE ENEMY

The pleasure and benefit of being in field and wood carries a danger that needs to be recognized.
Plants poisonous to the touch These three plants, poison oak, poison ivy and poisonsumac are officially classified as Toxicodendrons, toxico meaning poison and dendreon meaning plant or tree.

Poison Oak: Western, grows to 6-foot tall clumps or vines up to 30 feet long. Eastern, grows as a low shrub. Oak- like leaves, usually in clusters of three the fruits are clusters of yellow
berries.

Poison Ivy grows near lakes and streams in the Midwest &  East. Woody ropelike vine, a trailing shrub on the ground, or a free standing shrub. Normally three leaflets, it varies from groups of three to nine leaves are green in summer and red in the fall. Yellow or green flowers with white berries.

Poison Sumac grows in boggy areas, found especially in the Southeast. Rangy shrub up to 15 feet tall, seven to 13 smooth-edged leaflets with glossy pale yellow or cream colored berries.

All three of these toxicodendron plants contain Urushiol, a substance found in all parts of the plant. Urushiol is among the words most potent external toxins. The amount of Urushiol it takes to cause a reaction is measured in nanograms, one billionth of a gram. Most sensitive people react in the 100 nanogram range. One leading toxicologist has estimated that it would take just one ounce of Urushoil to cause a rash on everyone in America.

Upon contact with the skin, Urushiol starts severe inflammation with intolerable itching and a vesicular eruption which destroys the outer skin.

TREATMENT

Treatment for Urushoil exposure should begin as soon as possible. Urushoil can penetrate the skin pores within ten minutes. The faster its treated, the less damage will be done and the sooner healing begins.

After contact with Urushoil, it is generally advised to wash the affected areas with soap and cold water to remove the oil. Hot water causes the pores to open allowing the oil to be absorbed.

DIRECTIONS FOR USING Alphacura BodyGuard

Using Alphacura BodyGuard for the FIELD spray applicator, apply a light mist covering to the affected skin, two or three times a day. Allow to dry before covering the area with clothing.

Wear light cotton clothing, keep well ventilated, avoid rubbing and pressure. Sterile gauze can be used to protect the area.

Once the area is cleansed and Alphacura BodyGuard for the FIELD is applied, do not apply any other product.

OTHER REMEDIES that may be used The U.S.F.S. and different State Forestry Departments
use a product called Tecnu for poison oak and ivy rashes. Tecnu is a lotion that you apply to break down the active ingredient in the  Urushoil. It is best, used as soon as possible after contact, to wash off and neutralize the Urushoil on the skin.
